About the event
The Northumberland Assn. for Progressive Stewardship (NAPS) will be hosting the 5th. Annual Earth Day Festival in "downtown" Heathsville during the season’s first Farmer’s Market – Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with dozens of environmental exhibits and activities set up by NAPS and other local organizations.
The Earth Day 5K Run will start at 8 a.m.. Runners, walkers, and dogs (on leashes) are welcome, and there will be a free “Tot Trot” for kids 5 and under at 9:15. Visit runnnk.org to sign up and for more information.
Environmental exhibitors have been a key attraction of the Earth Day Festival. This year the emphasis will be on active demonstrations to attract, entertain, and educate visitors.
NAPS will again have its "Earth Day Pledge Tree" and will be giving away free reusable grocery bags to anyone who promises to do something new to help the environment this year. NAPS also plans to again have an “All-Electric Vehicle” exhibit and solar energy displays with experts on hand. Check NAPSva.org for updates...
