In a remarkable demonstration of leadership and community spirit, Scouting America Troop 250 transformed the Kirkland Grove Campground this past spring through a dedicated beautification project led by Trystan N. Campbell as part of his Eagle Scout Project, partly sponsored by a $500 donation from NAPS (Northumberland Assn. For Progressive Stewardship).

Under Trystan's coordination and the help of his mentor, John R. Thompson Sr., Troop 250 Scouts and volunteers worked tirelessly to enhance the natural beauty of the campground, creating an inviting and well-maintained environment for campers, hikers, and families to enjoy.

The project included planting trees, re-installing and mulching flower beds, restoring road signage and ensuring that tools were available for projects in the future. This is all aimed at fostering a sustainable and welcoming space for outdoor activities. Trystan's commitment to excellence and his leadership throughout the project reflect the values of Scouting and his determination to leave a lasting positive impact on the community.

Trystan extends his thanks to the many community partners who contributed to the success of this projection. All final proceeds were donated directly to The Kirkland Grove Campground Trustees to continue the upkeep of the grounds for an additional two years. Trystan N. Campbell is proudly recognized nationally and locally by Scouting America as an Eagle Scout as of April 27,2025.
