Meet NAPS' New Board Member

At its February meeting the NAPS Board of Directors welcomed new member Tommy Armstrong. He is a retired environmental and industrial safety manager at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Tommy was raised in Culpeper, VA and has a BA in economics. He returned to school and completed academic requirements for a MS in Biology at the University of Richmond.

“I worked for a variety of multi-location manufacturing companies as an environmental compliance and safety manager where I was instrumental in replacing toxic chemicals with less hazardous ones. I ended my career at ATF where I focused on protecting employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals and complying with environmental regulations.

"I worked on minimizing risk to employees inspecting explosives magazines and manufacturing plants by reducing exposure to explosive vapors and eliminating static electricity build up.”

Tommy and his wife, Marie, live on the Little Wicomico River between Reedville and Burgess where they enjoy cruising on the Chesapeake Bay.
