NAPS Co-Sponsors Canoe Exploration for 24 Ninth Graders

NAPS and the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum are co-sponsoring a field trip for 24 students in Katelyn Oren’s ninth grade Environmental Science Class at Northumberland High School, scheduled for Oct. 20, 2023.

The field trip is part of Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s (CBF) Virginia Rivers & Streams East Environmental Education Program.

CBF educators will lead students and teachers on canoe explorations of the Rappahannock River and creeks near Belle Isle State Park.

Students will probe the Bay’s biologically diverse tidal waters to learn about the effects of waterside land uses and study the area’s plants and wildlife.
